ListSavant is a list management app that uses speech recognition tobuild lists and take notes. Shopping lists, packing lists, to-dolists, or whatever you want. Sort your lists easily by drag/drop orautomatically by name or date. Check off items when they are done.Hide completed items. Reset the list to re-use it over and overagain. Each list item can have a detailed note attached. All textis created using speech recognition (or via the keyboard if youreally want that). Attach a picture or a voice recording to anylist item. Lists can be backed-up to the disk for safe keeping orfor upgrading to a new phone. As with all apps from NewburyGraphics, the app is free and there are no advertisements orsecurity threats. The app doesn't require internet access nor doesit require any onerous permissions such as asking to see all ofyour contacts or private information. ListSavant works just finewhen you are travelling and don't have a network connection.Currently, ListSavant only recognizes English speech. Park Here lets you mark on a Google Map where you parked yourcar.Then, if desired, it will track your movements so you caneasilybacktrack to your car. Park Here will also automaticallyrememberwhere your car is parked each time you shut the engine off(if youconnect the phone to the car using Bluetooth). If you wantto getback to your parking space, you can also use the GoogleMapnavigation facility to give you step-by-step directions backtoyour car. Just click on the parking spot marker and the buttontoget directions will appear. Not in a car? Park Here can alsobeused for tracking your walking, biking, skiing orhikingexcursions. Just mark your starting point, turn on tracking,andPark Here will capture your route along with the distancetraveledand the elapsed time. You can also add way-points alongyour routewith a single click. The latest version has charts ofyour speedand altitude along your route. Long click on the route toidentifyjust a segment of the route to see its speed and altitudecharts.View the speed and altitude charts of your fastest ski runor biketime trial. Altitude values are fetched from Google to givemuchgreater accuracy than those obtained from GPS. (To gettheseaccurate altitudes, you will have to get a key fromGoogle.Instructions to do that are on the Chart page in Park Here.This isoptional) You can save as many parking spots (or "pointsofinterest") as you want. Parking spots can be named. You canalsoadd notes to a parking spot such as which row and floor the carisparked on. This can be added by typing or by voice dictation.Evenif you are away from home and do not have mobile data access,ParkHere can still capture your parking spot (using GPS). Then youcandisplay that spot on an external map such as OsmAnd whichusesoffline maps to show you where you are. Park Here also comewith aWidget (called Park Now!) that you can put on your home page.Asingle click on this widget creates a new parking spot,thendetermines the GPS location of where you, and finally alertsyouwhen it has finished. All this is done in the background soyoudon't have to fiddle around clicking buttons and typing text.Aswith all apps from Newbury Graphics, Park Here is absolutelyfreeand secure. There are no ads, no in-app purchases, and norequestsfor donations. Park Here uses a minimum of permissions: 1)Internetaccess to run Google Maps and to get your parking spotaddress. 2)Write to external storage to save your tracks. 3) Fineand coarseGPS locations to determine where you are parked. 4)Bluetooth (butnot Bluetooth management) to get notified when yourcar engine isturned off. 5) Boot Completion to start the Bluetoothlistener whenyou power up your phone. 6) Vibrate to alert you ifthe automaticparking facility cannot get an accurate GPS locationwithin 5minutes of parking your car.
